Matchday 35 Review

After a 1-1 draw with West Brom, in which Spurs hit the woodwork and incredible three times, it’s safe to say that Leicester City are all but champions with two games in hand, provided they cross over the line when they visit Old Trafford on Sunday. While it’s still mathematically possible for Spurs to nick the title, it would take a miracle of some size for Leicester to not pick up three points in their final three games. Tottenham’s task won’t be made any easier by the fact that their next opponents come in the form of their north London rivals Chelsea, who have already made themselves clear on their intent to pile the misery on them.

Elsewhere, Manchester City cruised to a 4-0 victory against Stoke, thanks to a Kelechi Iheanacho brace while Arsenal were held to a barren draw at the Stadium of Light by a resilient Sunderland side. Liverpool also got a taste of a team hungry for survival after throwing away a comfortable 2-0 lead to draw with Newcastle.

Southampton had an easy stroll in the park, however, thrashing an already relegated Aston Villa 4-2 in a goal fest at Villa Park.

Right then, did I improve on my dismal prediction record from last week?  Let’s find out:

Saturday:

MANCHESTER CITY VS STOKE CITY

Prediction: Man City 3-1 Stoke

Outcome: Man City WIN

ASTON VILLA VS SOUTHAMPTON

Prediction: Aston Villa 0-4 Southampton

Outcome: Southampton WIN

AFC BOURNEMOUTH VS CHELSEA

Prediction: Bournemouth 1-1 Chelsea

Outcome: Chelsea WIN

LIVERPOOL VS NEWCASTLE UNITED

Prediction: Liverpool 1-1 Newcastle

Outcome: DRAW

Sunday:

SUNDERLAND VS ARSENAL

Prediction: Sunderland 1-2 Arsenal

Outcome: DRAW

LEICESTER CITY VS SWANSEA CITY

Prediction: Leicester 2-0 Swansea

Outcome: Leicester WIN

SPURS VS WEST BROM

Prediction: Spurs 2-2 West Brom

Outcome: DRAW

Just like Eden Hazard, I’m back in form again, managing a solid five out of eight. Lets hope for a perfect score next week!
